Our next meeting, on May 22, will be Troop 37 elections. If
you would like to run for Senior Patrol Leader or Assistant Senior
Patrol Leader, please let Mrs. Crossley know. You will also
need to be prepared to give a short campaign speech to your fellow
Scouts on why you would make a good leader for the troop. Both
of these positions are excellent leadership positions that provide
valuable experience for all our older Scouts, especially those
considering the attainment of the Eagle rank.
Patrol Leader and Assistant Patrol Leader elections
will also be held, and Scouts working on Star or Life ranks should
consider running for one of those positions in their patrol.
Finally, below are all the possible leadership
positions. Those not mentioned already are appointed.
These positions also qualify as leadership, but the new Senior
Patrol Leader in conjunction with the Scoutmasters appoint Scouts to
these positions. Scouts wishing to be appointed to one of the
leadership positions should make those wishes known to the new
Senior Patrol Leader after all the elections are over.
Sincerely,
Assistant Scoutmaster Wu

Venture Patrol Information
Hello Troop 37,
Are you a member of Troop 37's Venture Patrol?
Are you a Scout at least 13 years of age who would like to
ratchet it up to the next level?
Are you the parent of a Troop 37 Venturer or potential
Venturer? Get trained
and learn how to stay safe as you engage in Scouting High Adventure.
Venturing is Scouting's answer for Scouts looking for even
more adventure. From
backpacking trips like our summer long term trip, to shooting
handguns, to skydiving - our older, tougher Scouts have more options
as a Venturer.
With excitement comes training to keep everyone safe.
For both youth and parent leaders, the Orange County Council
offers a Venturing Training Day this April 14th.
See the attached flyer, and if you're interested, please take
the class.
Sincerely,
George Wu, ASM
Hello Troop 37 Venture Patrol,
As I mentioned at the last meeting, the Orange County Council
is hosting a Venturing Shootout. Shooting is one of our most
enjoyable activities, and Venturing takes it to another whole
level. Do you have what it takes to show the rest of the Orange
County troops just how great Troop 37 is?

Hello Troop 37,
There is 1 additional Life to Eagle Project Workshops
planned by the Orange County Council. If you are a Life Scout
or the parent of a Life Scout, one of these workshops can help you
get started on your Eagle project. I have a flyer stating
October 27, 2012 as another scheduled workshop, but it's not up on
the Council web site yet.
Cheers,
George Wu
